Never hire a plumber who doesn’t carry insurance. This way you avoid facing complex legal issues and any injuries or damage done in the workplace will be resolved quickly. Otherwise, you will have to pay for the cost of those accidents. Some companies carry worker’s compensation and liability insurance so make sure to check which type of insurance they carry.

Online Reviews

Once you have a list of prospect plumbers, check for online reviews on websites. Most plumbers will have a few negative reviews so don’t ignore them but don’t let them put off hiring the plumber. However, if the vast majority of reviews are negative or see the same issue in most of the reviews, you should look for another worker.

Easy to Get a Hold Of

It should be easy for you to communicate with the plumber and contact them. If you are having a hard time getting a hold of them before the work starts, imagine how difficult it will be after the work is done if you face a problem. It is a sign that they don’t care a lot about their customers.

Great Communication

Does the plumber understand your needs and takes the time to explain to you the issues in an easy-to-get language? You should feel comfortable around them.

Quote

You should invite the prospective plumber to visit your property and give you an accurate quote based on the condition of your plumbing system. Make sure the plumber gives you a clear quote stating the next information:

  • The exact cost of all the materials used during the project.
  • Describe exactly which type of work they will perform.
  • Whether they would charge a flat or hourly rate as well as when they expect to be paid.

Make sure to have a contract with that quote, including the terms and conditions. This will avoid paying more money than what was initially accorded or any unexpected expenses. Following the previous tips will help you to find the right plumber that can deliver a proficient job.

The advice to “check for online reviews on websites once you have a list of prospect plumbers” caught my attention. Don’t disregard the few bad ratings that most plumbers have, but also don’t allow them to deter you from employing the plumber. However, you need to hunt for a different employee if the great majority of reviews are unfavorable or highlight the same problem across the board. My bathtub drain is having trouble emptying, and I’m concerned that things will only get worse. I’m going to need to have a plumber come take a look at it and fix it immediately. I appreciate the useful advice.

Hello, quite an interesting blog and I agree with you that before hiring a plumber always check whether it has insurance or not. Also, some companies carry worker’s compensation and liability insurance so before hiring always make sure to check which type of insurance they carry.
