What to consider when planning a garden?
The garden can become one of the most important areas of your home. It’s our safe haven after a hard day’s work, a piece of greenery in the middle of the oppressive urban landscape, a plot of land where you decide how you unwind. That’s why it’s important that your garden is planned out well.
Whether you’re bracing yourself for a big, bombastic project involving landscaping & gardening in Edinburgh, or you’re just thinking about the layout of your plants, you need to have a good vision of what you want to achieve with your garden.
The most important thing you need to consider is what you have to work with. Your soil and topography will influence the possible aesthetics of your garden, sure, but they’ll also limit what kind of plants you can grow. Consider the amount of sunlight you get in your garden and either work around it or find a fix. And then, of course, you need to decide how much maintenance are you ready to commit to.
Are you ready to work in your garden a lot to cultivate your vegetables, herbs, and flowers? Or would you rather just relax in a gazebo, throw a barbecue party now and again, and do little more than trim your lawn once in a while? All that will determine not only the layout of your garden but also the ration between plant life and architectural elements. Make sure you have these things figured out before work on your garden can commence!
