The filling industry can be quite versatile. Depending on the niche and product you are dealing with, you will need different machinery for different tasks. Starting a business in this industry can be quite a hassle, especially if you are going in blind. As with everything else, having some prior knowledge before you dive in is crucial. That being said, if anyone wants to do business in this industry, these machines are a must-have. There is no going around it, without proper equipment the business will never achieve major success. On that note, when it comes to the different types of filling equipment it is safe to say that there are a lot of options.

To answer the question of the topic, we will have to dive a bit deeper. We will cover the main way that these machines differ from one another. So, without delaying further, let’s begin.

Different Types of Filling Machines

As we mentioned, there are a lot of different filling machines. The main difference between filling machines comes from the product that they are designed for. This means that before you can choose proper filling equipment, you need to know what product you will be dealing with. Even though a single machine can work with different products, they still need to be similar. Let’s take into account a liquid filling machine. As the name states, they are designed to fill liquids into different containers. However, if we look into a specific type, for example, a bottle filling machine, we can see that not every bottle filling machine is suitable to fill every liquid.

This is also the case with other filling equipment. For example pressure overflow filler or simple piston filler. They all have a different purpose and most notably different variants of the same type of machine. To go into even more detail, there are different speeds, parts, modifications, designs, and so much more. However, there is one thing that all of these machines share. That is the level of automation. Here we will go over three levels of automation which are manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic.

Manual Filling Machines

To begin with, we have manual filling machines. It is the first step in the automation of the business. As you can probably tell from the name, these machines require someone to operate them nonstop. They are generally used for smaller businesses as they do not fare as well as the more automated ones when it comes to output and speed in general. That being said, these machines do not require electricity to run. This is another benefit that smaller businesses can use. The low product output speed is not that big of a problem as smaller businesses do not sell that much product to begin with. Additionally, these machines also have some special uses in certain situations. For example, when there is no electricity at all or that electricity could prove to be a massive hazard, then a manual filling machine is perfect for the job. These machines have an output of about 15 containers per minute.

Semi-Automatic Filling Machines

After manual filling machines come semi-automatic ones. Again, as you can probably tell from the name; these machines are automated to some extent. They are faster and more efficient compared to their manual counterparts. Basically, semi-automatic filling machines are the next step in growing a business. When the business reaches a certain demand level, a manual filling machine will simply not cut it. Upgrading to a semi-automatic one will certainly show benefits fast and will be worthwhile in the long run. These machines have an output of 35 containers per minute, which is more than double what a manual one can do.

Automatic Filling Machines

Lastly, there are automatic filling machines. They are the ones at the top of the filling equipment ladder. These machines are the most expensive, but they are also the best that money can buy. When a business reaches a certain level of demand, there is no going around it; you will have to get an automatic filling machine. They have the highest production output. Additionally, they will do the majority of the work by themselves. There is no need to waste unnecessary time or work when it comes to these machines. The only thing that is necessary is to have an operator that will feed the containers into the machine as well as input the necessary settings.

When we say that an automatic filling machine does the work by itself, we mean it. This machine will do it all. Apart from the fact that a worker needs to feed the containers to the machine, it will organize the containers on its own, move them, fill them, seal them, and finally label them. They are truly the last step in improving a business. These machines simply outshine the competition. With a whopping output of 100 containers per minute, the production speed will never be a problem.
