Dishwasher vs sink
There is no cooking without water and there is no kitchen without sink. Beside cooking plate sink is the most important thing in every kitchen because half of work in the kitchen is done around the sink. Among other things in the sink we clean, wash and prepare ingredients but also we wash and dry our dishes and cutlery. Because of that important role in the kitchen sink has evolved from just an ordinary place for washing dirty dishes to multi-functional kitchen module which allows us to do our work in the kitchen faster and more effectively. Besides functionality and ergonomic design they are highly aestethetic and they are easily combined with the style of the kitchen. The are made from various materials like inox, granit or high quality artificial materials in all sorts of colors, textures and shapes.
Modern sinks are equipped with very handy accessories, integrated cutting boards and waste disposals. If the space allows best are double sinks with space for drying the dishes and you must know that you will always need a good sink even if you have dishwasher in your kitchen.
Sink or dishwasher
There are still many people who don’t trust dishwashers and their best argument is that dishwasher can’t replace hand washing in the sink with the quality that is provided when washing manually. This is the argument which was truth for early types of dishwashers but nowadays washing dishes in energy class “A” and even in energy class “B” dishwashers are significantly cheaper than washing the dishes by hand and the quality is the same. Thanks to dishwashers we save water, electricity and our time. Cheap dishwashers need 10 to 15 litres of water for one washing and energy class “A” dishwashers needs under 10 litres for one washing and around 1KWh of electrical energy. At the same time for washing the same amount of dishes by hand we spent from 40 to 80 litres of water and around 2,5 KWh of electrical energy. Also dishwasher saves our time and we spend around 15 minutes for putting the dishes in and out of dishwasher by comparison with 45 to 60 minutes for hand washing that amount of dishes. If we take that numbers in one year than it is clear that we save around 300 hours of our time every year with washing in the dishwasher, that is 12,5 days every year which we can spend on our family. But that is not all. When we wash the dishes by hand we use the water from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius but dishwashers heat the water from 45 to 75 degrees Celsius and the dishes washed in the the dishwasher is cleaner and healthier than the dishes washed by hand. Dishwashers better cleans filth and grease and the heated water disinfect the dishes and kill 99,9% of bacteria on the dishes.
Dishwasher
We have proved that in the battle between dishwasher and sink, dishwasher always wins and we think that every house should have one especially today when we pay special attention to the environment. The choice of the dishwashers is truly huge and everybody can find the dishwasher perfect for their kitchen. As previously mentioned, the attention when buying the dishwasher must be on the energy class because higher energy class results with smaller bill for water and electricity. The energy class “A” dishwashers use around 10 litres of water for each washing and on the one year basis you can save almost 14600 litres of water which is enough for showering the entire year. Also they use impulse wash technology which is enviroment friendly and they wash in perfect silence (only 46 dB). Of course better dishwashers can wash more dishes in one wash and they have security systems that allows your dishes to be perfectly clean. Some of the most respected brands of dishwashers are KitchenAid, Bosch, Electrolux, GE, Samsung and LG. By the customer rating and by rating of independent companies the best three dishwashers are LG LDF8874ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher, Samsung DW80H9930US Top Control Dishwasher with WaterWall Technology and Electrolux EWDW6505G 24″ Built-In Dishwasher with Wave-Touch® Controls and Luxury.
